PanAfGeo+ supports the strengthening of geoscientific capacities across Africa through a coordinated programme of training, knowledge exchange, institutional cooperation and dialogue. Building on the experience of PanAfGeo-1 and PanAfGeo-2, the programme delivers targeted activities that enhance both technical expertise and professional skills of staff from African Geological Surveys and partner institutions.
Training and capacity-building activities are designed and delivered by experienced geoscientific experts from African and European Geological Surveys, ensuring relevance, quality and peer-to-peer exchange. In addition to training, PanAfGeo+ promotes dialogue, partnerships and knowledge management to support sustainable development, responsible resource management and informed decision-making.
The implementation of PanAfGeo+ is organised through a structured set of Work Packages, which together contribute to the overall objectives of the programme. Programme coordination is led by the Geological Survey of France (BRGM), in close collaboration with EuroGeoSurveys (EGS) and the Organisation of African Geological Surveys (OAGS). Work Packages operate in coordination with partner institutions, ensuring alignment between programme-level objectives and national priorities.
