WP7 – Hydrogeology
Overview
Groundwater is a critical resource for water security, climate resilience and socio-economic development. WP7 strengthens hydrogeological capacities of African hydrogeologist to support sustainable groundwater management and water related risks.
Scope and Activities
Training addresses groundwater occurrence, recharge and flow, aquifer characterisation and mapping, groundwater quality and vulnerability, monitoring and modelling. Field-based investigations and applied data analysis are core components.
Capacity Building Approach
The programme combines theoretical instruction with fieldwork and practical exercises tailored to regional hydrogeological challenges.
What the Work Package Delivers
WP7 improves groundwater assessment and management, strengthens support to water-related policies and enhances resilience of groundwater resources under climate change.
